CJ
THE GREAT
by
CJ Hollenbach
Everybody seems to think that the life of a model is so glamorous.
OK, sometimes it is, but other times you end up modeling senior
citizen's support hose for their product packaging. (The pay is
the same, by the way!)
The
art director on that particular shoot, Pete Paspalovski (www.prespastudios.com)
had used me before and was also a very talented artist. He was
looking for a blonde model to pose for a painting he was doing.
Pete was doing a series of paintings of historical figures. I
know using me would make it "hysterical" figures, but
I'll do the jokes here! His painting of Ceasar was phenomenal.
His next painting would be "Alexander the Great" and
he asked me to pose for it.
As
always, we were to do the reference photo shoot on the same day
as I was to do a calendar signing. So, it would be a full day
for me. I managed make my hair, all 3 feet of it, to look like
Colin Ferrel's in the movie, "Alexander." No easy fete
either. Actually, it looked like my hair did in high school, very
scary.
The
calendar signing later that day was being hosted by an Akron radio
talk show host, Stan Piatt, who was doing a live remote broadcast.
He is an old pal of mine. Imagine my horror as I'm driving to
the shoot hearing him talking about me on the radio. I could hardly
keep my car on the road. Somebody called in to say they had a
joke about me. I narrowly missed a ditch hearing that. With my
grocery store title of "Sexiest Grocery In America"
to romance cover model this guy calls in and says "CJ went
from BAGS to BITCHES!" That did make me laugh and I did make
it to the shoot in one piece.
My
costume was made by Laurie Bishop who had made some of my costumes
for other cover shoots. She did an amazing job, and on a budget
too. As you can see, there was no horse in the shoot. Pete painted
that in. Alexander was supposedly very fond of his horse.
The
computer reproductions don't do the finished artwork justice.
Pete did a tremendous job. We hope to be selling prints on the
site. Signed by both the artist and the model. Let me know what
you think....
